廣西蓋校舍行動!在廣西有一群貧困失依的學童,我們一起來改善他們的生活;)
Have you heard of the
Yao ethnic minority in China? They are one of the poorest ethnic groups in China as most of them live in remote mountainous regions with little arable land. The poorest among them are still leading a life with no electricity and running tap water. Corn and beans are their daily diet while rice, meat and eggs remain luxuries to them.
(Picture on the left: A simple plastic school bag.)hIn a rural Yao village in China’s Guangxi province, there lives a teacher named
Ban Aihua. Besides teaching a class of more than 30 children aged 6 to 12, Teacher Ban is also looking after a dozen children that are either orphans or from impoverished single-parent families.
(Picture on the right: Teacher Ban and her class.)However, the current living conditions of Teacher Ban and the dozen children are overcrowded and unhygienic. Their sanitation facility is also inadequate in meeting the needs of everyone living in the house. (Please see
'Background' for more details.)
